Interested in Changing your Major to BS IT?

IMPORTANT: No declaration forms will be processed until
after spring 2017 grades have been posted.

The last day to change majors to BS IT for the spring 2017 semester was the last day to drop classes for spring 2017, 24 February 2017. This and all declaration criteria for majors in the VSE are posted at https://volgenau.gmu.edu/academics/academic-advising/criteria-declare-majors.

In order to be eligible to declare the BS IT, students must first pass IT 106 with a C or better AND also have a minimum IT GPA of 3.0. For more information about declaring the major, please visit ist.gmu.edu/go/declarebsinft. If you have registered for or completed CS 112 with a C or better, you cannot use that to substitute IT 106 until you have completed CS 211 with a C or better. Once CS 112 AND CS 211 are completed with C’s or better, these can be substituted for IT 106 and IT 206 for the major.

If you wish to declare the BS IT, you will need to speak with a full time academic advisor: Mrs. Howe, Ms. Genova, or Mrs. Sevilla. Faculty advisors are not authorized to sign these forms.

If you have any questions, please contact bsit@gmu.edu or visit ist.gmu.edu/go/advising to schedule an appointment with a full time academic advisor and we will be happy to assist you.
