Fall 2016 Position Available: Term Instructor/Assistant Professor

The George Mason University Department of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), within the Volgenau School of Engineering (VSE), invites applications for a full-time, Term (nontenure-track) Instructional Faculty position starting Fall 2016.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for an Assistant Professor-level position include a Ph.D. (or very near the completion of one by the start date of the position) in information technology, information systems, information sciences, computer science, or related field. Applicants with a M.S. degree will be considered for Instructor-level positions.

Applicants should possess a strong commitment to and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Applicants must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Candidates must be able to teach courses in information security, cyber security, data analytics, networking and telecommunications, databases, and programming. Teaching will be at the undergraduate- and/or graduate-level.

Preference will be given to candidates with a combination of the following qualifications: teaching experience; industry experience, knowledge of emerging technologies; a record of peer-reviewed publications; and demonstrated expertise with tools and techniques.
