Dr. Morikawa joined as a term Associate Professor from August 2015 after completing a 34 year career with the federal government as a program manager and engineer in the communications and networking fields. He will teach primarily in the Networking and Telecommmunications (NTEL) concentration, specifically courses on satellite communications, wireless networking, telecommunications and voice communications technologies.

Dr. Purohit joined as tenure-track Assistant Professor from August 2015, with teaching interests in the big data analytics and interdisciplinary research interests in computational social science, and cooperative information systems. He studies human behavior in emerging online communities on social networks with application to societal problems such as disaster management, and data-driven policy recommendation to curb gender-based violence.

Dr. Motti will start as a tenure-track Assistant Professor from January 2016. Her main research and teaching interests involve Human-Centered Computing and Ubiquitous Computing. She investigates human factors, usability and privacy of mobile and wearable devices in medical applications.
