CompTIA Security+

Developed in 2002 and due to an increase in security threats, CompTIA Security+ certification is one of the fastest-growing fields in IT and designates knowledgeable professionals in the field of security. Certification demonstrates fundamental knowledge in system security, network infrastructure, access control, and organizational security. Large organizations such as Computer Sciences Corporation, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman seek qualified CompTIA Security+ certified staff for DoD 8570 as Security Engineer, Security Consultant, and IA Technician/Manager. Although not required, two years of security-related work is recommended along with the CompTIA Network+ certification.
