Paul Otto has fifteen years in the technology arena with experience ranging from IT software design in the fields of database and web server development to embedded real-time system fabrication. His teaching philosophy is to provide the students with multiple feedback paths so they can optimally utilize their virtual classroom experience. These feedback paths include online evaluations, labs, and discussion board participation where adaptation is performed based on the strengths and weaknesses of the students to maximize their growth potential. Classes focused on certifications will have special emphasis on quiz based performance to prepare the student for the certification exam. Further, his focus on labs is to merge the practical experience with development of a cybertoolkit that can be used in the work environment.
His certifications include: Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer, Oracle 11g Administrator Certified Associate, Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate, Oracle Certified SQL Expert, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Linux+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Cloud Essentials, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, and Certified Internet Web Professional v5 Associate. He completed his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri—Rolla and his Masters in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
