Vera Goodacre is an adjunct professor at George Mason University in the Information Sciences and Technology Department.
Professor Goodacre is a consultant with 20+ years experience in technology and science. Prior to teaching at GMU she provided IT training , technical support, network analysis and management, product rollout, sales engineering, research and programming on an international scale; her employers included ICL Ltd, Burroughs France, Deutsche Olivetti, Cray Research UK, 3COM Germany, Digital Equipment Corporation and Computer Associates USA.
Ms. Goodacre has taught network technologies and architectures for several years across the USA.
At GMU, Professor Goodacre’s focus has been on network technologies where she has enhanced her classes with information about emerging trends and “science to business” transformations.
Professor Goodacres’ research interests include Artificial Intelligence, cognitive networks, speech recognition, and knowledge engineering. She is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and has been working on a committee of the Florida AI Research Society since 2006.
Professor Goodacre earned her Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering/Cybernetics from the Czech Technical University (CVUT) in Prague.
