Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA)
ATTENTION POTENTIAL GTAs:
Please refrain from contacting the IST main office and professors (by phone, email, or in person) about applying or the status of your application; it only delays us further in completing the hiring process and may be seen negatively by some faculty members. Instead, please solely rely on applying through the appropriate channel, identified below.
Orientation on December 16 is cancelled. We will hold the GTA Orientation on January 14th, 2020 @ ENGR 4801 @ 11 AM. (Fairfax Campus – ENGR 4801)
It’s a Mandatory Return-to-Work Attendance. Failure to attend it may result in loss of the GTA appointment.
Prior to the Fall IST orientation, I would like to encourage you to attend an optional GTA Requirements and Expectations Seminar. It would help you better understand how to prepare and satisfy the requirements of being a GTA. Here is a link to register http://tinyurl.com/IGTA-Info
GTA’s Requirements:
IST GTAs must be registered for courses in a graduate program within Volgenau School of Engineering.
All new International GTAs (Graders, Lab, GL) must take the CELTD (Classroom English Language Teaching Demonstration) assessment prior to starting their first GTA.
To book your assessment, please follow the link https://intomason.mywconline.com.
For any test or tutoring related questions, please contact Kathleen Rossell (krossell@gmu.edu)
