Job and Internship Opportunities

Drop Deadlines

  • Last day to drop with a 33% tuition penalty- Tuesday, September 15
  • Final Drop Deadline (67% tuition penalty)- Friday, October 2
  • Selective Withdrawal Period- October 5 through October 30

**Important note: drop deadlines differ for courses that start during the second half of the semester. Always verify dates on the Registrar’s website.

Fall 2015 Graduation Information
Planning to graduate this semester?  Don’t forget to apply!  The deadline is October 4, 2015. You can access the graduation intent in PatriotWeb.  Full details are available on the Registrar’s Website.

You are STRONGLY encouraged to review your degree progress in PatriotWeb to ensure that you have met all of the requirements.  If you have any questions or concerns about your degree progress, schedule an in-person advising appointment.

Career Advising
Starting today, September 10, an industry advisor from Career Services will be in 2612 Engineering Building to assist students with resume and cover letter reviews, information about on and off campus jobs and internships, and internship preparation.  Thursday appointments are available from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and can be made by calling 703-993-2370.  Walk-in appointments are from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. each Thursday and are on a first come, first served basis.

Career Fair
Wednesday, October 7th, 2015:  Science, Technology, Engineering and Math focus
Thursday, October 8th, 2015:  Business, Public Service, and Non-Tech Focus
11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Dewberry Hall, Johnson Center, Fairfax Campus

Spring 2016 Registration Dates
Fall semester may have just started, but Spring registration is not far away.  You should plan to meet with an advisor before your registration date.  Advising appointments fill quickly during registration season, so schedule your appointment early.  We accept appointments up to 30 days in advance.
