IT 293 PREREQ ANNOUNCEMENT

Students:

It has come to our attention that the required prerequisite of “sophomore standing” was erroneously changed to a recommended prerequisite in the 2018-2019 University catalog.

We have fixed this issue and the required prerequisite of sophomore standing has been restored.

The advisors will run a report to review eligibility of students currently enrolled in IT 293 sections for spring 2019. If you are a freshman and will not be at sophomore standing (min 30 credits graded) by the start of spring 2019, you will be removed from IT 293.

This prerequisite should not come as a surprise to you, as a reminder (copied below) of this prerequisite was emailed to the student listserv on 16 November 2018:

Reminder for Freshmen:
Sophomore standing (min 30 credits earned) is required in order to register for IT 293. Although you may be considered a sophomore by the start of the semester, if, when you go to register for IT 293, you have not yet had min 30 credits GRADED, you are not yet eligible to register for the course. Once you have had at least 30 credits graded, you will be able to add yourself to a waitlist and/or to a section. We CANNOT override student standing.
