NEW VSE POLICY: Requesting a Third Attempt of a VSE Course

original email sent to vs-bsinft-l@listserv.gmu.edu on 18 Dec 2018 at 1158am

Students,

The VSE has created a new policy, similar to the University 4th attempt policy, but for 3rd attempt requests.

A third attempt of a Volgenau School of Engineering (VSE) course now requires support by the student’s major department as well as permission by the department offering the course. This permission is not guaranteed.

In order to request a third attempt of an IT course you MUST:

  1.  Complete the Student Success Plan form.
  2. Email Dr. Islam, the Associate Chair, at kislam2@gmu.edu with your completed Student Success Plan and, if not explicitly stated on your form, the reasons and aspects with which you struggled, and your plans for success in your third and final attempt. Please DO NOT submit an override request via the override request form for third attempts.
