Dan VanBelleghem is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology.

Professor VanBelleghem is an experienced cybersecurity professional and instructor with 15 years in higher education. His professional experience includes enterprise security architecture, incident response, forensics, penetration testing, governance and risk management. In addition to supporting clients across the federal government, he has provided cybersecurity support to a number of Fortune 100 companies. Prof. VanBelleghem is a recognized leader in cybersecurity engineering, analysis, integration, and design. He has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences, meetings, and media events, including the Computer Security Institute’s Annual Security Conference, RSA Security Conference, SANS Institute Conference, and the Black Hat Briefings.

Professor VanBelleghem, currently leads the cybersecurity practice for Intelligence and Homeland Security division at General Dynamics Information Technology. In this role he has oversight for technology strategy, vendor relations, solution development, practice leadership for cybersecurity solutions, and provides customer support in solving cybersecurity related problems across the system development life cycle. Before joining GDIT, he was Chief Security Officer at NCI Information Systems, and in the security consulting business with SRA, Deloitte, and Booz Allen & Hamilton.
