Joy Hughes is a Professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology. She came to the university in 1997 as Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer.
From 1997 through 2013 she was in charge of the acquisition, growth, and administration of the university’s IT systems. During these years Dr. Hughes was also involved in the establishment of international partnerships between the university and organizations and universities in Asia.
In 2014-15 she assisted in the establishment of the university’s new campus in Korea by serving as its President during its foundational years. After returning to the United States, she assumed her position as Professor in the IST department.
Dr. Hughes earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Rutgers University, a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Information Sciences from the Union Institute and University.
