Michael Kapfer is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology.

Professor Kapfer serves as the Chief Information Officer at Northwest Federal Credit Union. In this role, he is responsible for all of the IT systems and personnel of the 300,000+ member credit union. With multiple member segments, the environment must support the needs of a highly diverse membership while maintaining a highly secure environment to protect members’ Personally Identifying Information (PII).

Professor Kapfer is interested in privacy rights and innovation. In his role of CIO, he invests a lot of time and effort ensuring the information of his membership is protected. He looks for innovative ways to help members understand their finances and navigate the financial landscape.

Professor Kapfer holds a M.S. from Johns Hopkins University.
