Ryshell Henderson
Professor Ryshell Henderson (PhD, CISM, C|CISO, CDPSE, Security+) is an adjunct professor for the Volgenau School of Engineering at George Mason University. She holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration, Master of Science in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Internetworking technology, G.E.D., and multiple certifications. Professor Henderson pursues certifications and continue education because the world is ever changing, and learning does not stop with a diploma in many cases. In addition, Professor Henderson works as a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer with 25+ years of experience. Professor Henderson truly believes that her position as an educator is the most rewarding because the student’s progression is real time as student grows personally and professionally. Teaching is a humble reminder that I once sat in similar seats in college unsure of my path. As time permits, Professor Henderson mentors striving students seeking a career path in Cybersecurity. Professor Henderson research interest is the impact of emerging technology on older adults. Outside of Professor Henderson’s professional life, her personal life is equally busy with family extracurriculars. She lives in Northern VA with her husband and dog, seven children, and grandchildren (they live in separate homes). Professor Henderson enjoys cooking, specializing in vegan and gluten free food. When not in the kitchen, Professor Henderson loves to cycle (still trying to get the hang of it).
