Scott E. Hine

Scott Hine is a member of the executive leadership team within the Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE/EERE) where he is the Director of the Information Technology Services Office. He has over 30 years of direct portfolio, program and project management experience within the federal R&D domain.
As a collateral duty, Scott is also the Executive Sponsor of the Federal Government’s Program and Project Management Community of Practice (FedPM CoP) with in excess of 1,000 members from over 80 federal activities.
Scott has recently given over ten program and project management presentations at Project Management Institute and University of Maryland Symposiums.
Outside of work, Scott is actively engaged in the George Mason University activities:
- Advisory Board Member for the Department of Information Sciences and Technology
- Advisory Board Member for the Center for Government Contracting
- Treasurer, Business Alumni Chapter Executive Board, 2017 – Present
- GMU Alumni Association Scholarship Committee, 2015, 2019 – Present
- “Pinned” over 10,000 new alumni during the last 15+ graduations
Scott also serves as a Commissioner on the Fairfax County Consumer Protection Board; he was appointed by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in 2006.
Scott holds a BS degree in Decision Science from George Mason University, MS in Systems Engineering from Binghamton University, Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, and PMP, FAC-P/PM, FAC-COR, CIO, DAWIA, Information Security, ITIL, Acquisition Professional and certifications.
