Registration Errors/Overrides Test

The registrar has posted detailed information on course registration.

Common Registration Errors

  • PREQ and TEST SCORE ERROR – Check the University Catalog ( to make sure that you are registered for the co-requisite of the course or that you have successfully completed or will be completing the prerequisite(s). If you have, but you still receive this error message, please submit the form, below, for your eligibility to be reviewed.
  • REPEAT HOURS EXCEED – For IT courses, you must complete the Student Success Plan (, then email the form and (if not explicitly stated on your form) the reasons and aspects with which you struggled, and your plans for success in your third and final attempt, to Dr. Islam, at Please DO NOT submit an override request via the override request form for third attempts.
    • If you have only attempted IT 104 once, but you have transfer credit of ITE 115 for IT 103, the system may erroneously restrict you from registering by giving you a Repeat Hours Exceed registration error message. For this instance, you may submit the form, below.
  • TIME CONFLICT – We are unable to provide an override. Instead, you must complete the Time Conflict Form (, which requires signatures from both course instructors. This form must be returned to the Registrar’s Office for processing.

If you believe you should be able to register for a course complete the form below. You must complete the form once for each course you are requesting an override. Please do not put more than one request per form submitted.

    Your G Number is your 9-character identification number that starts with a capital G and is followed by 8 digits (numbers)

    The department only issues overrides for courses starting with AIT (Grad Courses), IT (Undergrad Courses), and SYST 469. We are unable to issue overrides for any other department (e.g. MATH). For overrides to courses starting with MATH (e.g. MATH 108), contact Christine Amaya at

    Prerequisites/Corequisites for courses are based on the academic year the course is taught – not your program catalog year. Your program catalog year provides the list of courses you are required to take to complete your degree.
