In IST, we work on (1) improving software security, particularly, automatically discovering the vulnerable code, identifying security patches, and generating security patches in real-world open-source and proprietary software projects, (2) investigating both the security problems in current AI/ML solutions and how to use AI/ML on solving existing security problems, (3) developing adaptive virtualized systems that protect a production system through hiding it in a continuously morphing virtual environment and/or serving disinformation via believable deceptive decoys.
